Bellevue College men’s golf took third place at the NWAC Championships held at Apple Tree GC in Yakima. The Bulldogs shot a team score of 34-over-par, 21 strokes behind champion North Idaho.

Dalton Dean led Bellevue with a three-over 75 today to finish 4-up for the tourney to finish tied for fifth overall out of 36 golfers. Jaeger Christian fired rounds of 2-up and 5-up over the two days to finish two spots behind in seventh while Tyler Spalti shot 75-78. Ryan Knox rounded out Bellevue’s scoring with an 80-78.

Bellevue was within striking distance after day one of the tourney, eleven strokes back, but struggled to make up any ground on the final day, firing a team day two total of 20-up as champion North Idaho answered with a 10-up on Championship Monday.

The championship also marks an end of an era as BC golfer, Tyler Spalti, completed his fourth year in the program after receiving two COVID-19 hardship years back from the NWAC.
