Volleyball Rolls Over Shoreline

Bellevue College volleyball got back to winning ways after topping host Shoreline 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-19). The Bulldogs, coming off a tough league-opening loss on Wednesday to Edmonds, came back sharp at the serve line recording 13 aces. Setters Mandi Nottingham and Lauren Wittmers were especially effective, recording four each. Tommi Gallucci had three.

In set one, early signs were evident of a blowout as the ‘dogs went up 15-1 to open things up. Nottingham recorded three of her aces in that span.

The Bulldogs used a balanced attack offensively as seven players recorded multiple kills and were led by the six apiece from Olivia Deckard and Emma Heywood. The two combined for only two swing errors as well as both hit over .300 for the match.

Bellevue is now 1-1 in North Region play and 16-4 overall. The ‘dogs travel to Olympic next Wednesday Sept. 27 for a 7:00 pm. first serve.
