Bellevue College soccer continued their surge under first-year Head Coach John Buttle with a 3-1 win at Peninsula today. Peninsula, traditionally one of the top teams in the NWAC, struggled with fouls and could not get past Bellevue’s Jackson Buck who was stellar in the box with six saves.
After quickly falling behind 1-0 in the opening 10 minutes of the game, BC struck back at the 52:53 park on a Patrick Gloria goal assited by Yoo Seung-Bum. Midway through the second half Bellevue scored it’s second goal, the game-winner on a connection between Parfait Ngandu who fed Ernesto Arevalo for the winning goal.
Although Peninsula outshot Bellevue 11-9, it was Buck’s tenacious defense at goal that kept Bellevue in the match.
Bellevue is now 2-0-3 in league play and 4-1-3 overall. The ‘dogs are in a three-way tie (with Everett, Skagit Valley) and host Edmonds this Wednesday Sept. 27 at 4:15 p.m.
