vb

Bellevue College volleyball rolled to a 3-1 win at Whatcom, taking down the Orcas 25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23. Sophomore Jeanice Gamez was on fire and played as close to a near perfect match anyone could play by racking up nine kills on no errors. Her kill percentage of a whopping 53% led BC’s offense which also got a double-double by Jessi Mahler who recorded 10 kills and 22 digs. Olivia Deckard, back from an injury, was in sharp form with seven kills and 16 digs.

Bellevue was also effective at the serve line, with eight aces and only three service errors in one of their cleanest matches of the year in serve and serve receive.

Bellevue is now 5-1 in league and hit the 20-win barrier as they are now 20-4 on the year; an accomplishment in itself with a relatively young team of freshmen.

The ‘dogs have a huge match this Friday Oct. 13 at Edmonds, who currently sits in first place. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
