Bellevue College men’s soccer topped Peninsula 2-0 in a defensive battle from both squads. The Bulldogs’ defense proved to be better as keeper Jackson Buck recorded the shutout in the box for BC as Peninsula managed only two shots on goal in the entire game.
Although BC did not fare much better on the offensive opportunities, with three shots on goal, they were able to find the back of the net as Atsuki Aoyama connected on an assist by Parfait Ngandu early in the first half. Yoo Seung-Bum added a second goal right after halftime as Bellevue’s defense then took over. Noah Baer and Patrick Gloria played nearly every minute on the defensive end to lead the ‘dogs’ efforts.
The win puts Bellevue in a tie for first place at 6-1-4 (8-1-4 overall). They travel to last place Edmonds next Wednesday Oct. 25 for a 2:15 kickoff.
