Bellevue College men’s soccer needed overtime to take home a win in a 2-1 win over visiting Lane today in the opening round of the NWAC playoffs. BC’s Parfait Ngandu scored the winner, seven minutes into overtime on an assist by Atsuki Aoyama.
Bellevue, the North #2 seed taking on the lower #3 South seed Lane, appeared ready to dominate the game early on as Ryan Kim scored just five minutes into the game. The Titans kept it close even though the ‘dogs outshot the Titans 13-7.
The win takes Bellevue to round two, against a former rival, Highline, on Saturday Nov. 4. The T-Birds, the #1 seed from the West, is a familiar foe as the Bulldogs were formerly in the West Region for soccer. Bellevue is 8-1-5 overall heading into the quarterfinal match up.
