Bellevue College women’s soccer battled number two-ranked Spokane to the end but fell in a penalty kick shootout, 4-3 after double-overtime. In a game with a berth to the final four on the line, Bellevue made things interesting for Spokane with two late goals in the final 10 minutes of play after being down 2-0 late in the second half.

With their season appearing to be coming to an end, down 2-0, BC freshman Macie Masterson scored to keep Bellevue’s hopes alive. Evee Augustine then put Bellevue’s sideline in pandemonium with a second goal with just under two minutes to play, sending the game into overtime.

After giving up a quick goal to the Sasquatch, falling behind 1-0 after just three minutes of play, Bellevue had seven shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. Spokane’s offense regained more control in the second half with 12 shots compared to BC’s five, but the ‘dogs got two in late which spoiled Spokane goalkeeper’s monumental day with 10 saves.

The Bulldogs finish 9-3-4 this fall.
