Bellevue College women’s basketball hung tough with visiting Lower Columbia but eventually fell 78-64. Down by just three entering the fourth quarter against a team that blew out the ‘dogs by 32 points earlier in the season, BC could not gain any momentum in the fourth as the Red Devils shot nearly 60% from the field and cashed in on seven of 10 from the free throw line to prevent any further comeback.
Turnovers also flipped the momentum to Lower Columbia’s way as Bellevue committed three turnovers in the first two minutes in the fourth to allow Lower Columbia to extend their lead to a comfort zone that built up to as much as 17 points at 78-61.
Alicia Morrison had 16 points and was a perfect six-for-six from the line and was two-for-three from three-point range for Bellevue. Mary Davis continued to impress in her delayed start to the season with five-of-seven shooting for 13 points.
Bellevue ends pre-season play at 4-11 and will open up North Region games Wed. Jan. 10 at Olympic. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
