Bellevue College sophomore Kristina Blauman scored 23 points and had nine rebounds, both team-highs, as the Bulldogs ran their North Region record to 2-0 with a 66-54 home win over Everett.
Bellevue seized control in the middle quarters, outscoring Everett 33-13 in the second and third quarters combined before a shootout fourth quarter in which the teams combined for 51 points. A layup by Sahara Soufi put BC up 47-28 with 7:40 to play. Everett’s offense kept rallying, bringing the deficit down to just 10 on two occasions. Blauman came up big on both situations, extending BC’s lead to 12 which prevented any deep threats by Everett for the remainder of the game.
Blauman’s big night puts the Bulldogs at 2-0 in North Region play and in first place. The ‘dogs take on Peninsula, who is also tied for first, this Wednesday Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.
