Bellevue College men’s basketball fell to host Everett 83-78 at the Walt Price Center in Everett. After leading by 10 at halftime at 44-34, the Bulldogs got dominated in the second half as the Trojans lit up the scoreboard for 49 points while limiting BC to 34. The 15-point swing catapulted Everett to the win as Everett outrebounded Bellevue 23-11 while pumping in five-of-nine from three-point range. The Bulldogs went cold in the second half shooting just 35% and suffered from long range, shooting 14% on two-for-14 three-point attempts.
For the first five minutes of the second half, Bellevue maintained the lead but gradually saw it shrink until the Trojans took a 51-50 lead with 14:19 to go on a layup by Derek Smith. BC and Everett battled with no team having a lead larger than three points for five minutes before the ‘dogs started to distance themselves, up by seven with only 2:25 to go.
Things went south in the final two minutes as Bellevue missed three consecutive three-point attempts on it’s next three possessions while Everett went on a torrid 12-0 run to close out the game.
Logan Stempniak led Bellevue with 24 points. Marcus Cole had 18 on seven-for-12 shooting.
The Bulldogs will attempt to break a two-game losing skid as they host Peninsula Wed. Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
