Bellevue College women’s basketball came close but could not bring home a second overtime win in a week, falling to host Shoreline 62-61. After a thrilling triple overtime win over Whatcom last week, the ‘dogs were poised to do it again, as they trailed Shoreline 13-2 after one quarter. But Bellevue rallied with a hot second half outscoring Shoreline by 13 points to send it into overtime.
Kristina Blauman, who was clutch last week in a huge win over Whatcom, came up big again with a bucket with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 52. In overtime, Blauman recorded a steal with 1:18 to play and made a pair of free throws to put BC up 58-56. But Shoreline rallied for the next six points in the final minute of play to take home the win.
The Bulldogs had a rough night shooting, cashing in on only 30% from the field. Blauman had 19 points and was a force underneath with a game-high 15 rebounds.
Their final home game is this Sun. Feb. 25 at noon vs. Edmonds. The Bellevue sophomores will be honored before tipoff.
