Edmonds Tops Bellevue Men’s Basketball

North Region champion Edmonds knocked off host Bellevue 80-73 in the final regular season home game for the Bulldog men. Before the game, Marcus Cole and Jeremiah Hersrud, both three-year sophomores who were part of last year’s NWAC Champion squad, were honored in a ceremony before the game .

The cleaner first half by Edmonds led to the win as the Tritons led 41-33 at intermission after outrebounding BC 18-13 and cashing in on three additional three-pointers to account for the majority of the halftime lead.

In the second half, Bellevue came back and were down 59-57 following a layup by Darius Williams with 7:18 remaining. But the Tritons answered with five points as Bellevue could not get any closer for the rest of the day.

Logan Stempniak had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead Bellevue (5-8 / 16-12). Bellevue wraps up the season this Wed. Feb. 28 at Skagit Valley. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
