Baseball Wins Three of Four in Pierce Series

After a tough opening 8-6 loss to Pierce College on Fri. Mar. 8, the Bellevue College baseball team rebounded with stellar pitching in three consecutive starts to win the next three games and take the series.

Ryker Fortier’s three hits were not enough in game one as a four-run eighth for BC to cut the Pierce lead to 7-6 was not enough. In the nightcap, Tristan Aasland threw a two-hitter through five innings while J.T. Rican made his college debut on the mound as the Bulldogs plated 10 runs in the sixth inning on two hits and were aided by nine walks and / or hit batters in the 17-3 win.

Micah Hagler went seven shutout innings in game three in the 4-0 win. Casey Sabiers went two innings with four strikeouts in shutout relief while Konnor Sutton went two-for-four with two RBI’s. The Bulldogs then won the series in the rain-soaked 3-1 nightcap as Jackson May was three-for-three. Gibby Marshall-Inman went five innings while allowing only one hit for the win in long relief.

Bellevue is now 6-9-1 and head to Spokane for their final non-league series. The Sat. Mar. 16 doubleheader is set to start at 1 p.m.
