Skagit Valley Tops BC Men’s Soccer Down The Stretch

Host Skagit Valley won a competitive 3-2 win over Bellevue. Both teams got hot late as the bulk of the scoring occurred during the final 30 minutes of the game.

Skagit Valley jumped ahead 10 minutes before the end of the half to put the Cardinals up 1-0. Bellevue’s Jordan Stroud scored on an assist by Edgar Cabrera at the 60:58 mark to tie the game. With 20 minutes left, Skagit Valley tacked on two more goals to pub BC in a tough comeback spot down 3-1 with only six minutes remaining. Patrick Gloria responded for the ‘dogs with a goal assisted by Kaleb Steinle with five minutes remaining, but the Bulldogs could not get any closer.

Bellevue is 2-1 in North Region play and 3-2 overall. They host Shoreline on Wed. Sept. 25 at 4:15 p.m.
