Masterson and Kitiona Lead BC Women To Win

Bellevue College women’s soccer rallied back from a 2-1 deficit in the second half to top Skagit Valley 3-2. The Bulldogs’ Oteta Kitiona scored with 15 minutes remaining with the game-winner.

BC jumped out 1-0 on an unassisted goal by sophomore Macie Masterson. It was the lone goal in the first 45 minutes of play. The Cardinals answered with two goals to open up the second half to seize control of the game.

Masterson then answered with her second goal at 53:24 on an assist by Galiala Abeye.

After the Kitiona goal to put BC up 3-2, Skagit Valley scared the ‘dogs with two shots on goal, including one by Liz Cisneros at 79:55 that hit the crossbar. The Bulldogs prevailed in a thriller that offensively was controlled by Bellevue.

The ‘dogs outshot Skagit Valley 16-5 and had seven shots on goal in the key win.

Bellevue is now 6-1-1 in North Region play and 7-2-1 overall. The Bulldogs are right in the thick of the title chase and will travel to Everett in a rare Sunday game on Oct. 27 at 2:15 p.m.
