Bellevue College men’s basketball had trouble connecting from three-point range all night, shooting two-for-20 from long range as the Bulldogs fell 77-68 at Highline. The deficit started early in the first half as the ‘dogs went one-for-11 (9%) while Highline drained seven-of-13 (54%). Highline controlled the rebounds (21-13), limiting BC to just one shot after the missed three balls on several possessions as the T-Birds led 43-36 at intermission.
Bellevue bounced back in the second half and got to within three at 71-68 on a pair of Shawn Etheridge free throws with 1:15 remaining. Highline’s Isaiah Vargas answered with a bucket with a minute remaining to put the T-Birds up by five as Bellevue could not cash in on their final three possessions.
Isaiah White led the Bulldogs with 17 points on seven-for-15 shooting and was a perfect four-for-four from the line. Etheridge had 16 points and led BC with six rebounds and seven assists. The Bulldogs host Pierce tonight Jan. 4 at 4 p.m.
