
Bellevue College women’s basketball used a 24-4 fourth quarter advantage to blow out host Shoreline 64-32. Prior to the runaway fourth, BC was still under control after jumping out to a 14-7 first quarter lead which was never relinquished the rest of the way.
In the third, Shoreline’s final deficit with a chance for a comeback win was with 33 seconds remaining down just nine at 37-28 following a bucket by Michaela Dodge. Bellevue’s Aysha Peter responded with a three-pointer and from there on the Bulldog blowout began. The ‘dogs went on an 8-0 run to start the fourth increasing the lead to 20 at 48-28 before the Dolphins could manage to score in the final quarter. Five different Bulldogs chipped in points in the lopsided fourth as the defense held Shoreline to only six total field goal attempts.
Ghadir Ramadan led the scoring with 13 points with five others contributing in near equal fashion as well. Myana Calloway (12), Sequoia Turner (11), Lily Auelua (10), Peter (9), and Devynn Warns (9) aided to the team effort. Warns also had team-highs of 10 rebounds and five assists.
Bellevue sits in second place at 4-1 (11-9 overall) and will host Edmonds this Sat. Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
