

Bellevue College softball split a pair of close games at Everett today Wed. May 7, falling 7-6 before taking the second game 10-9.
In the opener, Bellevue spotted the Trojans a 5-0 lead through three innings before the offense strung together six runs in innings four through six to tie the game heading into the sixth. Hallie Sehlin delivered the big hit driving in Anna Fowler and Ella Singer with a single to center field in the four-run fourth for Bellevue. After giving up a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Bulldogs went down in order in the top of the seventh in the heartbreaking loss. Ella Singer was the lone hitter to generate multiple hits as the offense was stymied by Everett pitcher Alissa Hermansen, who allowed only five total Bulldog hits. Singer, who had Hermansen’s number all game, had two doubles as her two hits.
The Bulldogs didn’t fall short in their late-game heroics in game two as the ‘dogs put up a big three runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win. Fowler doubled before a Brooke Baker triple that drove in Folser and Singer for the ‘dogs big three runs. Baker also had a two-RBI double in the five run fourth, an inning in which Riley Pirkle added to the offense with a three-run home run. Baker and Ryleigh Wotzka each had four hits. Baker had four RBI’s as well.
The Bulldogs are now in second place at 22-8 (27-13 overall) and travel to Olympic for their final regular season games this Sat. May 10. First pitch is set for noon.
