Softball Sweeps At Olympic

Bellevue College softball took home a pair of wins on the road at Olympic, winning 18-2 and 10-2 on Sat. May 10.

In the opener, BC outhit the Rangers 17-2 as the game got out of hand in the top of the fourth as Bellevue stretched a 9-2 lead to 14-2. The ‘dogs tacked on four more runs in the fifth to end the game early due to the run-limit rule. Bellevue began to distance themselves in the third when Riley Pirkle hit a two run home run before Anna Fowler delivered a two-RBI single in the six run inning. Ella Singer was perfect four-for-four with four RBI’s while Fowler had three hits and four RBI’s as well.

In game two, Bellevue jumped out 2-0 before the big third inning; a repeat of game one as BC plated five runs en route to the win. Preslie Jensen got the big hit with a two RBI triple while Singer continued her hot hitting with an RBI single. Ryleigh Wotzka had two hits along with Singer and Jensen. Malia Reedy had seven strikeouts in the circle for the complete game win.

Bellevue closes out the regular season at 24-8 (29-13 overall). Bellevue, currently rated 10th in the RPI rankings, is expected to play Walla Walla to open up the NWAC Championships in Portland, OR on Thu. May 15.
