Bellevue College women’s soccer, despite firing 20 shots in the game, had to fight back from a 2-0 deficit and settled for a 2-2 tie at Edmonds. The game was nearly a carbon copy of the last time Bellevue traveled to Edmonds a year ago, in which Bellevue controlled the game and had opportunity after opportunity but could not cash in.
Although Bellevue outshot Edmonds 8-3 in the first half, Edmonds took an early lead within the first five minutes then tacked on another goal shortly after halftime.
Down by two, the ‘dogs’ freshman sensation Kiara Scheidt netted BC’s first goal at 77:18 then connected with Sawyer Young a minute later to tie the game.
Edmonds goalkeeper Amaris Ishikawa had 10 saves in 12 shots on goal, but let the critical two fall in with just minutes to go in the game.
The Bulldogs are 0-1-2 and host Whatcom next Wed. Sept. 17 at 4:15 p.m.
