Visiting Whatcom CC defeated Bellevue 2-0 in NWAC North Region play as the Orcas pulled away with two second half goals. Bellevue’s defense could not stay with Whatcom’s as the Orcas allowed only four total shots; two in each half limiting any real opportunity for the Bulldogs. BC’s Mason Duarte was a lot busier in the Bulldogs’ box, defending six shots on goal as Whatcom found the back of the net just minutes after halftime at 48:14.
The Orcas tacked on an insurance goal with 12 minutes to play to seal the win. At 78:10 Bellevue’s Loic Charles-Antoine finally fired off the dogs’ first shot on goal in the half but was saved by Orca ‘keeper Edgar Perez.
Bellevue is 1-1 in league play and 3-1 overall. They host Skagit Valley this Sat. Sept. 20 at noon.
