
The #1 Ranked Bellevue College volleyball team remained undefeated last night topping defending NWAC Champion Skagit Valley in straight sets 25-22, 27-25, 25-15. The Bulldogs, with a makeshift lineup due to injuries, were able to preserve their unbeaten record and are now 19-0 after the win.
The ‘dogs hit an unbelievable .721 in sets two and three combined with 28 kills on only four errors. In set two with the score tied at 14, the Bulldogs went on a 7-0 run to move the needle towards their side as five errors by Skagit coupled with a Mya Hejl kill led the ‘dogs to the lead. Skagit Valley would answer, tying it a 24 on consecutive errors by BC before Olivia Chilton hammered one home for the 27-25 win.
In set three Gillian Merhoff swung the heavy hand delivering four kills early on to spot Bellevue a 13-5 lead in the runaway set. Merhoff paced the offense with 10 kills and only one error. Merhoff and Ava Nowak both hit .750 for the night.
Bellevue travels to Olympic on Fri. Sept. 26 for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
