Bellevue College men’s soccer fell short as visiting Peninsula College maintained ball control throughout the game, losing 3-0. The Bulldogs managed just two shots on goal as the Pirates’ defense was just too tough.
Just three minutes into the game, Peninsula scored on a penalty kick by Jeremy Obah. The Pirates continued to apply pressure on the BC goal with another shot at 7:25 into the game, but was saved by Bellevue goalkeeper Mason Duarte. Obah connected with Austin Collins for the second Pirates goal at 21:18. Two more near goals saved by Duarte kept BC alive but Peninsula scored their third goal near the end of the half to put them up by a sizeable margin heading into halftime.
Hongfan Wei got BC’s first shot on goal at 76:52 but Peninsula’s Max Woithe, who recorded the shutout, made the stop.
Bellevue is 2-3 in North Region play and 4-3 overall. They travel to Everett this Sat. Oct. 4 for a noon start.
