Bellevue College men’s soccer battled valiantly and made a competitive game out of an offensive mismatch, falling 1-0 on a Peninsula goal with only 10 minutes to spare. Bellevue found themselves still in the game for anyone to take into the final minutes, despite being outshot 31-1.
The Pirates hammered 15 shots on goal, and were stopped by the brilliant play of Mason Duarte, who had a perfect nine saves on nine shot on goal attempts in the first half. Juan Carlos Lopez Jr., BC’s other goalkeeper, was brilliant as well with three saves, but finally succumbed to the Pirates offense on the late goal by Jeremy Obah.
Bellevue ends the regular season just short of the playoffs at 4-7-1 (6-7-1 overall).
