
Bellevue College women’s basketball lost 74-57 to Treasure Valley in round three of the NWAC Crossover Tourney hosted by Linn-Benton in Albany, OR. In the first quarter, Treasure Valley went on an 8-0 run after being down 8-7 and never looked back.
The Bulldogs were plagued by 24 turnovers, allowing the Chukars to build up a commanding 41-24 lead at halftime, then a 63-39 lead after three quarters. Down by over 20 points, the ‘dogs came out finally in the fourth quarter, going on an 11-0 run to get within 13. A free throw by Alexis Marcussen brought down the score to a 63-50 lead for Treasure Valley with 5:18 to go. A turnover and a foul gave the Chukars an opportunity to re-stretch the lead to 68-50 giving the ‘dogs limited hope with only four minutes remaining in the game.
Sophia Mackay came off the bench to lead the Bulldogs with 11 points. Katen Myers had a standout game on the rebounding side with 13 boards; eight of them on the offensive end.
Bellevue is 2-7 overall and will travel to Pierce this Wed. Dec. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
