Bulldog Men Win Shootout At Olympic

Bellevue College men’s basketball hit the century mark for the third time this season, topping host Olympic 100-89 in Bremerton. The Bulldogs threw up a whopping 40 shots in the first half, making 20 of them for an even 50%. The 40 attempts were enough to maintain the lead to offset Olympic’s 56% shooting in the half. The possession control was aided by the efforts of Will Woodward, who had 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive end. The 6-8 Woodward also was six-for-10 from the field and nine-for-11 from the line for 21 first half points.

With Woodward still controlling underneath in the second half, the ‘dogs used a balanced scoring attack aided by a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line to maintain control of the high scoring affair. Outrebounding the Rangers 20-9, the Bulldogs’ Isaiah White had the hot hand, shooting five-for-six from the field for 13 second half points. Darek Usitalo had 10 points and six rebounds in a stellar second half.

Woodward led all BC scorers with 32 on the night, followed by White with 21 and Josiah Johnson, returning from a concussion injury who had 16 points an six assists in 18 minutes of action.

Bellevue is now 5-0 in North Region play and 18-2 overall and will host Skagit Valley who is also 5-0 this Sat. Jan. 24 at 2 P.M.
