
Bellevue College softball split a doubleheader at Everett, taking game one 7-1 before falling 12-4.
In game one, Ava Jeretzky was stellar in the circle going all 7 innings with 8 strikeouts. The ‘dogs got the big inning in the fourth, plating 5 runs aided by walks and a leadoff hit batter as Allie Barashkoff got things started with a free pass to first base after being hit. Jeretzky then helped her own cause with a double, driving in Barashkoff. Shannon Tierney had a 2-RBI double driving in Ella Singer and Abby Watkins to give BC the 5-1 lead. Barashkoff led off the fifth with a solo home run to give Bellevue an insurance run.
In game two, Jeretzky was unable to keep up the dominance in the circle as the Trojans erupted for 12 runs for the easy win. Tierney, Singer, and Watkins each had 2 hits to pace Bellevue’s offense.
The Bulldogs are 7-1 in North Region play nad 15-7 overall. They host winless Highline (0-8, 0-12) this Wed. Apr. 8 at 4 P.M.
