Bellevue College men’s soccer got off to a hot start with offensive firepower with two wins at the season-opening NWAC Friendlies. Bellevue won 3-1 over South Puget Sound on Tue. Aug. 18 before topping SW Oregon 4-2 on Wed. In the opener, the Bulldogs got off twice as many shots as the Clippers with seven apiece in each half. Shaw Roberts scored two quick goals in the first six minutes of the game off assists from Kudai Osada and James Cairns. Derek Remen, a local transfer from Issaquah HS, was welcomed home with a goal at 28:00 in the first half off a feed from Diego Diaz Romero.
On Wed. Aug. 19 the offense continued dominance by amassing an 34 shots as the Lakers defense could not handle BC. Bellevue had consecutive goals early on from the same player for the second day in a row as Andres Moreno scored at the 20:00 and 24:00 marks. He would score his third goal of the game in the second half off an assist from Roberts before Lucas Tamalunas found the back of the net assisted by Yegor Tarasov.
The ‘dogs host Centralia in a non-counting scrimmage on Wed. Sept. 2 at 1PM.
