Volleyball Continues Streak

Bellevue College volleyball continued their streak of dominance with a sweep over visiting Everett tonight at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-15. The Bulldog hitters continue to improve their consistency, hitting .414 on the night.

Ava Nowak, who had 12 kills in the match, had three during a five-point run in set one to fuel the first set blowout. Bellevue’s serve receive started off with some rust in set two, surrendering three straight aces to the Trojans. Kills by Nowak and Cleo Corbin gave Bellevue the lead 8-7. The ‘dogs would stay close with Everett until Kylee Jackson had two consecutive aces to provide some cushion with a 22-18 lead.

In set three BC went on a 7-1 run midway through to cruise to an easy win as Cadence Lyon terminated the final ball for the 10 point win.

Both Nowak and Lyon were dialed in hitting .414 and .421 respectively and had over half of BC’s kills. Maile Kuamo’o had 25 assists as the ‘dogs welcomed back their second setter, Lucci Unga, who recently recovered from an ankle injury.

Bellevue is 3-0 in North Region play (17-2 overall), and were currently ranked third in the NWAC Coaches’ Poll. The ‘dogs take their 12-match win streak to Shoreline this Fri. Oct. 2. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
