Women’s Soccer Falls To Skagit Valley

Bellevue College women’s soccer battled to a 1-1 tie at halftime but ultimately fell to visiting Skagit Valley 3-1. Kiara Scheidt, the sophomore who has been the Bulldogs’ go-to player on many occasions, delivered early on after a Skagit Valley goal at 6:08. Scheidt connected with Robin Lull just five minutes later to score as the teams traded goals early on to stage a 1-1 tie.

Defense was strong on both sides, as only three shots on goal were recorded for the two teams. In the second half, Skagit Valley’s Kiersten Hendrickson broke the tie early in the second half. The Bulldogs had chances midway through the second half but attempts by Anna Sandnes and Parker Olson were stopped by Cardinal ‘keeper Shea Trial.

As the closing seconds ticked away, the Cardinals scored an insurance goal with time expired.

The Bulldogs are now 2-3-1 in league play (2-5-1 overall) and will travel to Peninsula next Wed. Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
