Bellevue College volleyball made quick work on the road in Bellingham with a sweep over the host Whatcom Orcas, winning 25-19, 25-17, 25-18. The Bulldogs survived a rough second set in which the team swung at a .077 clip, but took advantage of the Orcas’ .043 percentage for the match.

In set two, BC held a commanding 15-6 lead before the Orcas rallied off five straight points on three Bellevue errors to stay within striking distance. The ‘dogs came out swinging in set three as the team separated from Whatcom earlier on offensive efficiency. Committing only three errors in the set, kills by Lyon, Jenkins, and Maya Velasquez established a 19-9 lead as Bellevue cruised the rest of the way.

Nowak had 14 kills and led the team with 16 digs while Jenkins added 11 kills and seven digs. Lyon hit .385 with six kills. Lucci Unga dished out 16 assists for Bellevue.
