Bellevue College made quick work of visiting Shoreline by sweeping the visiting Dolphins by scores of 25-5, 25-10, 25-12 at Courter Family Athletic Pavillion. The Bulldogs had only five total swing errors en route to hitting a whopping .391 as a team.

Ava Nowak set the tone with five aces as the Bulldogs took a commanding 10-1 lead in set one. Nowak had two kills aided by four Shoreline errors in a 6-0 run to put Bellevue up 19-4. Maile Kuamo’o then had her turn at serving dominance with two aces as BC held serve for five straight points in the dominating win in set one.

Bellevue’s depth then took over as swings by Cadence Lyon, Iliana Brockett, and Cleo Corbin all led to an easy 25-10 win. Lyon had three kills in the set.

Set three gave a false impression for one brief moment as Shoreline jumped ahead 3-0 before a 12-0 run by Bellevue. Nowak had another ace and two kills during the run. The ‘dogs were then rolling as Corbin, Lucci Unga on a setter dump, and Kuamo’o in her new role as right side hitter and setter had kills. The high-flying Ja’elle Jenkins ended the match with a cross-court kill with extreme heat on it to put an exclamation mark on the night.

Nowak had a season-high 10 aces on the night to lead Bellevue. The Bulldogs are atop the North Region at 9-1 (23-5 overall) and will host Whatcom this next Wed. Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. The sophomores, which include Nowak, Tessa Mossburg, Kylee Jackson, Lyon, Unga, and Kuamo’o will be honored in a ceremony before the match.
