After leading day one of the Olympic Invite by 11 strokes, the Bellevue College Bulldogs added more padding by shooting a team score of 299 to win the tourney at the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain.
Tyler Spalti was the medalist shooting a 74 after an opening day 73. He tied fellow teammate Ryan Knox but won a tiebreaker. Spalti was on his way to a hot round at 1-under on the back nine before giving up three strokes with a bogey on the short par 3 16th and a double-bogey on the tight par 4 17th. He re-collected himself to par the 18th to finish at 74.
Knox bogeyed the par 4 13th then strung together five straight pars to close out his round of 75.
Jaeger Christian had the low round of the day for BC with a 73 by going 2-under par on his back nine to finish fifth overall in the individual standings while Austin Duffy rounded out BC’s scoring with a 76-77.
Bellevue will tee it up next at the Highline Invitational at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club on Sunday April 25.
