Bellevue College men’s golf made a run on day two, cutting ten strokes off their day one total, but fell four strokes shy of victory at the NWAC League Match hosted by Centralia College at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis. Bellevue ended at +32, four behind champion Southwestern Oregon.
Isaac Elaimy was the low scorer for both days of the tourney for the Bulldogs. On Sun. Apr. 27, Elaimy had two birdies on the front nine en route to a 74. Saum Sabetian sot 75 while Kai Lambro and Matthew Davidson shot 77 and 79 respectively.
On day two, Mon. Apr. 28, Elaimy shot a 70 and at one point was in the lead for medalist honors, but fell just short and finished one stroke shy, closing the tourney at two over par.
Bellevue, which started day two in fourth place, made ground not only in the tourney with their runner-up finish but also in the league standings by finishing higher than Columbia Basin, who previously held the league lead. Bellevue is now tied with Columbia Basin in the NWAC league standings and one ahead of Southwestern Oregon as all three teams will battle in the final league match next weekend in Spokane. The battle for the regular season league title is May 3-4 at Latah Creek GC in Spokane.
