Bellevue College women’s soccer opened up the 2025 season facing tough competition, falling 4-1 on Tues. Aug. 19 to Walla Walla before battling to a 2-2 tie against Lane at Pioneer Park in Salem, OR.
Sophomore Malia Brown got things going for the ‘dogs with an early unassisted goal at 18:40, as BC looked to be on track with their current #2 NWAC ranking after a runner-up finish at last year’s NWAC Championships. However, the defense wilted from there on, surrendering two goals late in the first half and another two in the second. The Warriors got 10 shots off on goal, keeping Bellevue ‘keeper Allison Gehring busy all day.
No details were given for the tie against Lane.
Bellevue is 0-1-1 and play a scrimmage next Wed. Aug. 27 at home against St. Martin’s University. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
