
Bellevue College men’s soccer scored two goals in the first half and held on to defeat host Shoreline 2-1. Hongfan Wei scored early off a feed from Harry Powell just under 20 minutes into the game to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Shoreline’s Gavin Dunn had a golden opportunity to tie the score at 28:18 but Bellevue goalkeeper Juan Carlos Lopez Jr. made the stop to preserve the lead. Markus Winkler-Cook then made the score 2-0 with a solo goal at 40:03. With the minutes closing in at halftime, BC’s Bryan Davis was just wide on an attempt with three minutes to go.
Shoreline rebounded with a goal at 54:34 to make it 2-1 Bellevue. The ‘dogs’ defense was strong down the stretch as Davis made two key stops while Lopez Jr. had two saves as well in the half.
Bellevue is now 2-2 in North Region play and 4-2 overall. They host Peninsula this Wed. Oct. 1 at 2 p.m.
