Bellevue College women’s soccer lost 2-0 to visiting Peninsula in a battle between two of the top projected North Region foes. Despite being outshot 11-3 and 9-0 in penalty kicks, the Bulldogs managed to somehow keep the game in a scoreless tie until halftime.

In the second half, the Bulldogs’ fortunes turned sour as Peninsula drew first blood with a goal scored just one minute into the half. Ten minutes later, the Pirates’ Emma Crystal scored off a feed from Elise Maffeo to put the Pirates up 2-0 as the Bulldogs were stymied in the second half without getting a shot off for the entire 45 minutes. Paige Boyce put on a valiant effort in the box for BC allowing only two goals as Peninsula applied pressure on her throughout the entire game.

Bellevue falls to 2-1-2 in North Region play and 2-2-3 overall. They travel to Everett this Sat. Oct. 4 fora 2:15 p.m. start.
