Bulldogs Women’s Soccer Takes Down Shoreline

Bellevue College women’s soccer cruised to an 8-0 win over visiting Shoreline today. Bellevue freshman Sawyer Young dominated early on, scoring three goals in the first 21 minutes of the game as the Bulldogs’ rout was about to begin. Young scored her first goal six minutes in before two other Bulldogs, Bethany Amante and Melanie Salcido-Blanco had near goals.

In the second half, the ‘dogs continued to dominate but couldn’t translate it with any goals until Sophia Llarenas added BC’s fourth goal 17 minutes into the half. Llarenas’ eight shots were a team-high for Bellevue. Robin Lull put Bellevue up 5-0 on the next possession down the field. Coach Richard Romain-Dika then made a lineup switch bringing in a new five who made quick work with three goals in three minutes as Madeline Long scored two goals while Oteta Kitiona hammered one home in between Long’s at 75:38.

Bellevue now vaults into second place with a 6-2-2 record (6-3-3 overall) and will be playing for playoff seeding during their last two regular season games. The final home game will be this Sat. Oct. 25 at 2:15 pm vs. Everett.
