Sophomore Oteta Kitiona made it a special sophomore recognition day with three goals in a 4-0 win over visiting Everett. Playing in their final regular season home game, the Bulldogs had full control the entire way, keeping Everett goalkeeper Brynn Meno busy with 14 shots on goal.
Kitiona scored early at 9:54 on a connection with Natalie Jas. The pressure by Bellevue’s offense was put on early as Jas and Isabella Marquart both just missed on goal attempts immediately following Kitiona’s opening strike. The Trojans had chances late in the half on two consecutive attempts by Chloe Parker, but Bellevue goalkeeper Paige Boyce denied the Trojans both times with stops in goal.
Marquart opened up the second half with a goal at 50:27 off a feed from Karly Ellis. Minutes later, Kitiona would strike again with a second assist from Jas to make it 3-0. Robin Lull then assisted Kitiona for the fourth and final goal at 63:25.
Boyce recorded the shutout in the box for BC with a perfect four-for-four in saves.
The win was key for Bellevue as they currently hold onto second place in the North Region standings, as the second place team earns hosting rights for the upcoming NWAC Championship playoffs. The Bulldogs travel to first place Peninsula this Wed. Oct. 29 for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.
