
Bellevue College men’s basketball won their eighth consecutive game with an easy 95-62 win over Grays Harbor. The Chokers, coming in at 1-11 on the season, fell behind early 10-0 and could not keep up with Bellevue’s hot shooting from the perimeter. BC shot the lights out from long range, draining 58% from three point land; not far behind from their 61% overall field goal percentage.
After jumping ahead early, the ‘dogs kept the offense on full steam as Josiah Johnson nailed a jumper to put the ‘dogs up 40-19 with 6:06 to go in the half. The Bulldogs shot a scorching 69% from the field and 75% from three point range in the first half before slightly cooling off in the second half.
Although the shooting percentage did not dominate as it did in the first half, the Bulldogs took care of business defensively, outrebounding Grays Harbor 23-11 while adding five blocked shots.
Sawyer Cottrell and Will Woodward led the way for Bellevue with 19 points apiece. Both were mainstays of the team’s hot shooting as Cottrell was a perfect five-for-five from three point range and led the team with nine rebounds while Woodward was nine-for-11 from the field.
The Bulldogs take on host Yakima Valley in their final game of the NWAC Crossover Tourney on Sat. Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.
