Bellevue College men’s basketball used a 43-17 second half advantage en route to a 40 point win over visiting Peninsula College, 77-37. The Bulldogs continued their ability to control the boards and shoot high percentage shots in the blowout, shooting at 60% clip in the second while out-rebounding the Pirates 19-9. The defensive pressure by Bellevue was also on full throttle forcing 11 Peninsula turnovers in the second half as well.

The Pirates would hang with the ‘dogs for the first eight minutes of the game before a three pointer by Sawyer Cottrell broke a 13-13 tie with 11:04 remaining in the first half. The Bulldogs went on a 16-0 run from that point and led 32-12 on a three pointer from Isaiah White before Peninsula would get on the board again. White’s dunk with 17 seconds remaining put Bellevue up 34-17, setting the stage for the second half blowout.

White was seven-for-11 from the field with six rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots in one of the most solid all-around performances by a Bulldog this season. Will Woodward continued his dominance down under with six-for-seven shooting and six rebounds for 13 points. Darek Usitalo was strong off the bench with 10 points as well.

The Bulldogs continue their roll as the hottest team in the NWAC at 16-2 with a 16 game winning streak. They travel to Shoreline this Sat. Jan. 17 for a 2 P.M. tipoff.
