Woodward and Fermon Take Home MVP and COY Honors

Bellevue College men’s basketball continued their NWAC dominance in the all star voting as well as on the hardwood as Will Woodward, a freshman, was named Most Valuable Player and Freshman of the Year while Head Coach Marcus Fermon won Coach of the Year honors. Woodward averaged over 16 points and eight rebounds per game. As Fermon frequently rotated players with one of the deepest squads in Bellevue history, Woodward frequently played only half of the game, which resulted in him being ranked first in the NWAC in points per 40 minutes at nearly 30 per game. He was fifth overall in the conference in rebounding, snagging 234 on the season.

Sawyer Cottrell, a sophomore from Kaysville, UT, was also named on the first team with Woodward. The sharp shooter from long range averaged 13 points per game and drilled home 74 three pointers on the season.

Josiah Johnson, a third year sophomore who came on the scene late due to an injury, and Max Mayo earned second team honors. Mayo was joined by Isaiah White on the All-Defensive Team.
