Bellevue College baseball lost two games over the weekend to North Region rival Edmonds, losing 2-1 and 13-2. In the opener, Cooper Richter and Edmonds’ JJ Martinson endured a pitching duel that had Bellevue down 2-1 in the ninth. A Bobby Trigg double gave BC the tying run at second base before the Tritons were able to wiggle out of the jam to end the game.

In game two, the Bulldogs jumped out 1-0 on back-to-back hits by Ethan Sugimoto and Thoma Holden as Sugimoto was driven in by Braeden Reese. But two key errors by the pitcher in the early innings accounted for five Edmonds runs to give the Tritons momentum for the rest of the game. Will Woodward was brilliant out of the pen, going 3.1 innings with 6 strikeouts. Holden had two hits for the Bulldogs.

Bellevue travels to Skagit Valley this Sat. Apr. 11 for a 1 P.M. doubleheader in Mount Vernon.
