
Bellevue College, taking on winless Highline who came in with an 0-12 record, received a bit of a scare early on after trailing 6-4 to come back for the 15-7 victory. The win was followed by a 21-0 blowout in game two in the twinbill hosted by the Bulldogs.
In the opener, down 6-4, the ‘dogs responded with 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with an onslaught of 8 hits. Maddie Repp led the inning off with a triple and was followed by consecutive hits by Allie Barashkoff, Aubree Orr, and Avery Grutz. A second string of consecutive hits came by Ava Jeretzky, Ella Singer, and Shannon Tierney. BC had 12 ‘dogs get to the plate in the big inning. Grutz led the hitting barrage with 3 hits while seven others had two in the 18 hit game.
In game two, Jeretzky and Tierney had mammoth games with 4 RBI’s each while Repp, Jeretzky, and Abby Watkins all had 3 hits. Bellevue put up 10 runs in back-to-back innings in the second and third for the win. Jeretzky silenced the T-Bird offense with a complete game shutout in the circle tossing a 2-hitter.
The Bulldogs are now 9-1 in North Region play and will face top-ranked Lower Columbia at the NWAC Crossover this Fri. Apr. 10 in Yakima at 1 P.M.
