
Bellevue College women’s golf could not hold onto the narrow lead built after day one, falling by 9 strokes to eventual champion Skagit Valley at the SW Oregon League Match held at Bandon Crossings GC in Bandon, OR. The Bulldogs held a one stroke lead after the opening round on Mon. Apr. 13 after shooting a +48 as a team; good for a one stroke lead over Skagit Valley. But the ‘dogs slipped on day two with a +61, ten strokes more than Skagit Valley and host SW Oregon, who overcame the Bulldogs and finished runner-up.
Hadley McDonough (87-88) and Ava Guthrie (87-94) finished third and fourth respectively overall, but was not enough to overcome medalist Malia Schroeder who dominated the field with rounds of 73-77 (+6); good for a 20 stroke win over runner-up Savannah Doughty of SW Oregon.
Kari Petterson finished eighth overall with rounds of 90-95 to round out BC’s scoring.
Bellevue travels to Tumwater next week for the South Puget Sound League Match at Tumwater Valley GC.
