Despite outshooting host Skagit Valley College 16-8, the Bellevue College women’s soccer team allowed Skagit Valley to score three consecutive goals in a six-minute time frame late in the first half to fall 4-0.

Gridlocked at 0-0, Skagit Valley’s Riley Lumpkin scored off an assist by Kiersten Henderson at 30:22, then promptly assisted Henderson for Skagit’s second goal before scoring her second straight goal at 36:36. The brief run flipped a game controlled by BC into a hole Bellevue could not dig out of.

Bellevue outshot the Cardinals 13-2 in the second half but could not find the back of the net. Flora Bielec had two chances with about 18 minutes remaining but was stopped by Cardinal ‘keeper Shea Trial. Bellevue had six shots in the last 10 minutes of the game but came up empty. Anna Sandnes had back-to-back shots on goal with five minutes remaining as BC’s last hope.

Bellevue finishes the season at 5-5-2 (5-7-2 overall) and in fourth place in the North Region.
