Bellevue Next Obstacle for No. 1 Umpqua

The Riverhawks have been waiting for this opportunity since the end of last season when then-No. 1-ranked Umpqua lost to 63-58 to Spokane in the semifinals. The No. 1 Riverhawks (30-1) are back in the Final Four.Umpqua meets No. 7 Bellevue (22-8) at 6 p.m. Saturday in a semifinal contest.



BC Men Ousted at NWAC Championships

The Sweet 16 showdown at the NWAC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament was a barn burner! In a dramatic come back, the Panthers, after trailing by 17 with 13 minutes left in the 2nd half, went on a torrid run to win 72-67.


BC Women Advance to NWAC Final Four

Brenda Akoto scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and her twin sister Melinda Akoto had 11 rebounds along with 9 points to lift BC past Lower Columbia 70-62 in the Elite 8 of the NWAC Championships. The Bulldogs will face to-ranked Umpqua in the semifinals on Saturday, March 17 at Everett CC.


Brenda Akoto Named North Region MVP, Stubblefield Coach of the Year

BC sophomore Brenda Akoto was selected as the NWAC women’s basketball North Region Most Valuable Player and coach Mel Stubblefield was named North Region Coach of the Year. The Bulldogs won the North Region title with a 10-2 conference mark and bring a 20-8 overall record into the NWAC Championships, which start Thursday, March 8.


Baseball Hall of Fame and Pre-Season Banquet To Honor Ray Washburn and Terry Agnew

Bellevue College baseball will honor the past and present by inducting Ray Washburn and Terry Agnew into the Bellevue College Baseball Hall of Fame. Bulldog Basketball and O’Connor Court Dedication – Jan. 10

Join the BC Foundation as we cheer on Bulldog Basketball on Wednesday, Jan. 10. We are honoring former BC Athletic Director Bill O’Connor by hosting a reception with light refreshments beginning at 6 p.m. and a basketball court dedication at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a special giveaway. The women’s basketball game starts at 5 p.m. and the men’s at 7 p.m. in the BC Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. Feel free to bring the whole family!


Dyer Named First-Team All-American in Volleyball

BC sophomore Averi Dyer was named a first-team Two-Year College All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Dyer, an outside hitter, helped the Bulldogs to the NWAC North Region title and a second-place finish in the 2017 NWAC Championships.

The Bulldogs return four of their top five scorers from last season’s 19-victory squad, but developing depth will be a key to challenging again for the upper echelon of the NWAC North Region.


Men’s Basketball Looks to Build on Tournament Victory

The Donald Brady era at Bellevue College got off to a good start, but the first-year coach realizes there is still a lot of work ahead. The Bulldogs opened the season by winning the Pierce Thanksgiving Tournament, including a 102-101 semifinal victory over Linn-Benton in which BC overcame a 15-point halftime deficit.
