Bellevue College’s Blake Hawksworth, a standout on the 2002 Bulldog team, was recently promoted from AAA Memphis to the St. Louis Cardinals major league club. He will be a middle reliever for the Cards. Hawksworth signed with the Cardinals after one year at Bellevue. Bellevue College’s Bryan Barnes and Lucas Shaw were both named Third Team All-Americans for the Pacific Association Division by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The baseball team won three straight games over their higher-ranked region-rivals to win the inaugural North Region Tourney.
