Students meet composition objectives by reading, writing, revising and editing essays and strengthening college study skills. Course work includes readings from a variety of sources and classroom instruction in sentence structure and variety.
Class Notes:
The Accelerated Composition Track allows up to 10 students with ENGL 092 placement to enroll in an accelerated sequence of two five-credit classes to complete ENGL 092 and ENGL& 101 in the same quarter. One hour is a regular ENGL& 101 class, and the other is a smaller support class to work more deeply on the ENGL 101 assignments while getting extra time and practice with the 101 instructors. To succeed in ENGL& 101, students must attend 80% or more class sessions in ENGL 092. The grade you receive in ENGL& 101 cannot exceed your grade in ENGL 092.
