Book Club: Motivation Myth Busters: Science-Based Strategies to Boost Motivation in Yourself and Others – New!

6 Mondays, 1:30-2:30 p.m., October 5, 12, 19, 26 & November 2 & 9; online 

This book club will examine common misconceptions about motivation and present research-based strategies for fostering engagement, persistence, resilience, and student ownership in educational settings. Through collaborative discussion and reflection, participants will consider how motivation impacts learning, behavior, and overall student success while also connecting current educational research to classroom practice and professional collaboration. Discussions will focus on practical applications related to autonomy, feedback, growth mindset, student belonging, and intrinsic motivation. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own instructional practices and share strategies that support meaningful learning experiences for students. 

10 PD Hours; $300 stipend for attending at least 5 of 6 book club discussions, one of which needs to be the final discussion
